These classic Peru shoulder bags are produced by the Spectacled Bear Conservation Society, a Threads of Peru partner NGO that also helps to support indigenous artisan weavers in Peru. Each bag is comprised of hand made textiles produced by indigenous artisans from communities in the “Rio de la Leche” watershed in northwestern Peru, an area with high unemployment, extreme poverty and where SBC conducts its research and conservation programs.
