Apus Peru and Threads of Peru facilitated the filming of a documentary, Wild Shepherdess (Indus Films). It features Kate Humble and was screened on the BBC in 2012 and 2013. The episode was filmed in the high Andean communities, including the village of Chaullacocha, where Threads of Peru works, and focuses on the alpaca industry and the lives of indigenous communities. Such efforts bring much-needed international attention to Quechua cultures.

The LATA Foundation produced a video about Threads of Peru’s work in February 2011. Co-founder Ariana Svenson explains the background of the project, its goals, and some of its challenges. Master weaver Daniel Sonqo says: ‘There is no other non-governmental body that is so concerned about the poor weavers from the remote Andean villages, searching for a means to help them advance, and this project will help improve the women’s lives.’
