ALPACA KIMONO - PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Handwoven on the traditional backstrap loom by indigenous artisans from the Andean highlands of Peru. The name Hatun means "big" in Quechua, the traditional language of the Andes, and refers to the chunky style yarn used.

The Hatun kimono is a sumptuously soft outerwear garment, handwoven from hand-spun 100% alpaca fiber. Easy to wrap yourself up in, it features hand-knotted fringe at the sleeves and bottom, as well as hand-embroidered decorative stitching down the center back. Handwoven alpaca facing around neck and front opening.

One size. Comes in Cream & Coal. 100% hand-spun alpaca fiber.

The Hatun Alpaca Kimono can be custom ordered when out of stock! Please allow 6 weeks for production time before shipping.

WHO MADE THIS HATUN ALPACA KIMONO?

This Pallay Alpaca Pillow in Surf was handwoven in the high Andean community of Upis by the Awaq Mayki weaving association. Upis is located about 4 hours away from Cusco in the shadow of Ausangate mountain, the highest mountain in the region and the most important apu (mountain deity) in Quechua cosmology.
