A unique treasure from the Andes, this handwoven frazada wool pillow combines naturally dyed dark indigo tones with undyed, jet black coal and soft white. Two narrow stripes flank a deep indigo center, while hand-stitched traditional embroidery adds a one-of-a-kind, modern accent to this decorative wool pillow. Fun, fluffy hand-stitched wool pompoms adorn the corners of our Upis throw pillow, and a cotton twill back with zipper closure rounds out the functional and creative design.
Handwoven in the high Andean community of Upis on a traditional backstrap loom, this frazada wool pillow is made of thick, handspun and community-sourced wool yarn, creating a richly textured pillow reminiscent of the thick blankets, or frazadas, this region is known for.
Use on its own as a dramatic accent pillow, or pair with our other frazada wool pillows for a funky boho pillow set!

WHO MADE THIS FRAZADA WOOL PILLOW?
This Upis Handspun Wool Pillow in Lake was handwoven in the high Andean community of Upis by the
Awaq Mayki weaving association. Upis is located about 4 hours away from Cusco in the shadow of Ausangate mountain, the highest mountain in the region and the most important
apu (mountain deity) in Quechua cosmology.
