PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Unkuña Peruvian Table Runner gives an exclusive opportunity to take a small piece of the creativity of a talented striving weaver from the community of Upis!

Called Unkuña in Quechua, a type of manta traditionally used for ceremonies when making an offering to the Pachamama (mother nature in Quechua), offerings in the Andes are made to ask for a good agriculture year, request permission to work the soil and to thank the benevolence of nature.

A true collector’s item, this piece will evoke the mysticism of the traditions from the ancient Incan empire.

WHO MADE THESE UNKUÑA TABLE RUNNERS?

These table runners were woven by Ruperta Condori from the community of Upis, nestled at the base of Apu Ausangate, the most important apu or mountain deity in the Andean cosmology.
