PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Ocongate Baby Alpaca toque chullo hats, knit by hand in sumptuously soft baby alpaca, are true treasures from Andean history!

Known as chullos (pronounced chul-yoh) in Quechua, these alpaca hats were first made thousands of years ago out of necessity: temperatures in the high Andes often fall below freezing, with biting winds that freezes your ears! Hence, the ear flaps to give your ears special protection.

WHO MADE THIS BABY ALPACA CHULLO HAT?
Each Ocongate Baby Alpaca Toque Chullo Hat is made by an indigenous artisan in the high Andean community of Pitukiska, in the Mapacho River Valley, with hand-spun baby alpaca fibre from free-range alpaca herds and natural dye materials. As each chullo is hand-made, each one is unique and colours and designs may not be exactly as in the photo.
