PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Chaska Baby Alpaca Poncho is an innovative, modern take on an ancient garment: the traditional woven poncho has been keeping the inhabitants of the Andean highlands warm for centuries. Woven in luxuriously soft, undyed black baby alpaca fiber, this statement-making women's poncho adds an elegant touch of Peru to your winter wardrobe!
The incredibly lightweight and soft Chaska Baby Alpaca Poncho features stunning, intricately woven designs representative of the community where it was made, and is just feels gorgeous to wear. Each thread was lovingly selected by the hands of Demesia Sinchi Echame, a young mother of three. Her skill and pride in weaving has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years.
Chaska, the Andean Star, is the predominant design in this weaving, and is also, coincidentally, the name of our gorgeous model!
The Chaska Baby Alpaca Poncho is made-to-order! Please allow 4-6 weeks for production time before shipping.
WHO MADE THE CHASKA BABY ALPACA PONCHO?
The Chaska Baby Alpaca Poncho was woven by Demesia Sinchi Echame, a young mother of three. She lives in the community of Chaullacocha, a small village located on a windswept Andean plain at an astonishing 4200m (13,800 ft).
