Handwoven Peruvian Shoulder Bag, 100% Natural Fibers and Materials
Size: 43 cm x 36 cm
Fiber: 90% wool, 10% alpaca
Featuring all the colours of the rainbow across its horizontal stripes, this fair trade, naturally-dyed Peruvian Rainbow Shoulder Bag was handwoven by an indigenous artisan in the Andes. The rich colors are achieved with locally sourced dye materials - including flowers, insects, barks and roots - and hand-dyed using ancient knowledge passed down from Pre-Incan times.
Along with many natural elements, the rainbow is held in high regard in Quechua culture, and is associated with the Inca Empire and the Inca, himself. It also symbolizes the city of Cusco!
This spacious tote bag is the perfect carry-all for all of your daily necessities - a tablet or small laptop, lunch, water bottle, and notebook! This is for someone who wants a practical shoulder bag that displays the bright flair of the high Andes.
This Peruvian Rainbow Shoulder bag closes with a sturdy zipper and has a handy zipped coin pocket sewn into the black lining.
Who made this Peruvian Rainbow Shoulder Bag?
This Peruvian Rainbow Shoulder Bag was made through the Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco by an indigenous artisan in the high Andean community of Chinchero. Located half way between Cusco and the Sacred Valley, Chinchero weavers are famous worldwide for the high quality of their weaving, and also their distinctive pallay (design) that they use in their weavings.
