Handspun Wool Yarn in Lilac
Handspun wool yarn. 100% natural, handmade in the Andes of Peru!
Weight: 245g and 280g
Fiber: 100% Sheep's Wool, cochineal dye
One-of-a-kind, hand-spun wool yarn from Peru! High up in the mountains of Peru, an Andean weaver hand-spun this yarn on a traditional drop spindle. The lilac hue was produced using cochineal, an ancient natural dye made from insects! The thickly-spun yarn is perfect for that chunky look popular today in sweaters, rugs or cushions. Hand-spun wool yarn makes a great gift for that creative textile lover or crafter!
All of our hand-spun yarn is unique: no two balls of yarn are alike, and once it's gone, it's gone!
Note: Color may vary slightly from how it appears in the photo.
WHO MADE THIS HANDSPUN WOOL YARN?
This wool yarn was hand-spun on a traditional drop-spindle in the high Andean community of Upis by Eulalia Cripsin and Rejina Chillihuani, two weavers from the Awaq Mayki weaving association.
