The Illariy Alpaca Scarf in four color variations was handwoven by the Sonqo family in the high Andean community of Parobamba - these truly stunning pieces connect you with Latin American colors, traditions, and vibrant lifestyle.

Each Illariy Scarf features designs like jungle fruit, frogs, fish, spiders, Inca steps and lakes. This combination of designs represents the natural world around the weaver, which provides daily inspiration.

The beautiful color combinations and intricate designs, carefully woven row by row on a traditional back strap loom, exemplify the skill and creativity of local Master Weaver Daniel Sonqo and his family. Over the years, the Sonqo family has worked to refine the traditional weaving and dyeing techniques that have been passed down through the generations since before Incan times, inspiring them to create unique pieces of unsurpassable beauty.

The designs are inspired by the natural world around the weaver, from which they draw their inspiration.

Over the years, these artisans have worked to refine the traditional spinning and weaving techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation since before Incan times, creating unique pieces of unsurpassable beauty. Some artisans boast the ability to hand-spin alpaca fiber almost as finely as machines!

This Tawa Alpaca Pillow was handwoven in the high Andean community of Pitukiska by the Mayu Chaska weaving association. Pitukiska is located about 4 hours away from Cusco in the highlands above the Mapacho River Valley, on the edge of the Cusquenan jungle.

This Pallay Alpaca Throw Pillow was handwoven in the high Andean community of Upis by the Awaq Mayki weaving association. Upis is located about 4 hours away from Cusco in the shadow of Ausangate mountain, the highest mountain in the region and the most important apu (mountain deity) in Quechua cosmology.
